I love these amazing pieces of history.

Sturdy, with a bit of sheen, polished black cotton.
Color is inky black. The light is reflecting off the sheen of the cotton.

Set on waist band with a single hook closure, and open where there would be a zipper.

Cut full and floaty, with stiched down pleats and darts around the waist.
Gorgeous wide ruffle with embroidery and cut outs accents the bottom of the skirt.
Ruffle at the hem under the ruffle.

Smooth top across the front, with gathers in the back creating the fullness.

Excellent condition. There is discoloration to the cotton. Not sure if it is fade or dye. But doesn't detract.

No stretch.
Set on waist band.
