I can't even with this dress....

My favorite decades... the 1930s, and 1940s.
Back when dresses were works of art.
So much detail was given the artistic creation of a dress.


Fabric is a shiny liquid satin that shimmers in the light. Bias cut contours to the body. Color is a soft candlelight.

The scoop neckline is accented with a floral motif lace with a ruffle that goes around the neckline and across to the back. Abstract sort of flower detail at the center front. One button back at neck.

Long sleeves are fuller at the top and taper to a snap at the pointed wrist.

Empire waist dips down on the sides and falls at about waist level in back. Soft gathers under the bust.
There are belt loops but no belt. I added the ribbon to show what the belt loops would do but I like it better without any belt.

The skirt is bias cut to fit the hips with flared side panels.

Side snap closure.

Just stunning.

Excellent condition.
