vintage 40s sheer off white flocked silk organza sheath slip gown with train
I don't think I have ever seen a more gorgeous dress!
She has had a bit of work done, but wow.
Iconic Old Hollywood glam!
Fabric is a sheer silk organza with flocked flowers.
Color is an off white background with the flowers being a bit darker.
So incredibly lightweight. Perfect for a summer wedding. Just add whatever under garment you wish.
Fitted bodice with sweetheart neckline and that iconic gathered bust and smooth waist detail.
Empire is accented with the beaded appliques.
Flounced cap sleeves (original sleeves could not be saved).
Full button back.
Skirt has the smooth middle panel with full gathering on either side at the hips.
Gored for fullness and then falling into a long train.
Gorgeous dress.
Very good condition. Cleaned and pressed. Sleeves have been removed; Covered buttons on the back are a little bit discolored from the metal base; smattering of repairs and holes on the train. See last pic.
**Imperfections really get lost in the style of the dress. You could also shorten the train**
